Lake Tahoe from the Flume Trail

Shuttles to Spooner Lake for early summer 2024 should start about June 1, 2024. This is normal for a 100% snow year like we are having. We have opened up reservations for shuttles to spooner for the flume trail starting June 1st 2024. Be advised that that could change earlier or later based on snow melt. Shuttle to the Tahoe rim trail will be about three weeks later to melt out.

We offer shuttles to Spooner Lake State Park for the 14 mile Flume Trail and to the Tahoe Rim Trail trailhead on Hwy 431 for the 24 mile TRT/Flume. Two distinctly different classic Tahoe mountain bike rides.

NEW for Summer 2024. Shuttles from Carson City to Spooner or highway 431 to ride the new Capital to Tahoe connection. From Highway 431 it is 31 miles of single track with 2000’ climbing and 6000’ descending! Schedule to be announced soon. Service should start end of June 2024.

Our Bike shop is located at the end of the trail for both of these classic point to point rides just behind Tunnel Creek Café, Incline Village, NV.

Shuttles to Spooner Lake for the classic Flume Trail ride are available daily.
$20 plus $2 park entrance fee.

9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 1:30 and 3:00. E bikes are allowed.
You can always use one of the above times to get back to your vehicle at Spooner after your ride.
Last shuttle for rental bikes is 1:30.

Shuttles to Tahoe Meadows for the Tahoe Rim Trail run even days of the Month – ie, 2nd, 4th, 6th, etc
$20.00

9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 3:00. E bikes are not allowed as per USFS.

Park at the Trailhead!

IF you are coming from South Lake Tahoe to ride the Flume Trail, consider  parking at Spooner at the state park and riding to our shop where we have hourly shuttles to return you back to your car at spooner after your ride.

IF you are riding the Tahoe Rim Trail, consider parking at the trailhead on hwy 431 and we will get you back to your car in the afternoon.

Good food, coffee and beer at Tunnel Creek Cafe next to the bike shop!

Please note that pedal assist bikes are NOT allowed on the Tahoe Rim Trail from Tahoe meadows to the Tunnel Creek Road. Pedal assist bikes ARE allowed on the Flume Trail ride from Spooner Lake to our shop in Incline Village.

IF taking a shuttle and you have your own bike, please park along highway 28 near Tunnel Creek Cafe in the new parking areas and ride the short distance to the bike shop which is behind the cafe. If you want free parking while shuttling, drive further to the north side of the new lots where street shoulder parking is free. It is a short ride back to our shop behind the cafe. OR park at Spooner lake in the state park for the Flume Trail or at Tahoe Meadows for the Tahoe Rim Trail and take an afternoon shuttle back to your vehicle.
